7 deadly homemade weedkillers

It's that time of year again and I'm being plagued by moss (the rockery wall - not myself). I've tried scrubbing it off but there's 80 or so feet and I'm a bit of a lazy sod. I found this website, might give some of these a try. Here's a few photos of what's in bloom at the minute (not much).

Shit drivers

I left my car overnight at the train station and returned to find bits of it missing. There was a note on the window with a phone number which there is no answer to, so far.

Cheese rolling

Cheese-Rolling at Cooper's Hill Gloucester is held annually on Spring Bank Holiday Monday. The slope has a gradient that is in places 1-in-2 and in others 1-in-1, its surface is very rough and uneven and it is almost impossible to remain on foot for the descent. Injuries incurred are usually minor and competitors (particularly the successful ones) enter again year after year.

The 5 downhill races are held at twenty minute intervals, one is a ladies' race.

Between the downhill races there are also uphill races., one for boys of 12 years and under, one for girls and an 'open' race there is an open mens and open womens uphill race too!

Obviously no cheeses are rolled, but a small cheese is the prize for the winner of each race.

Hamster kills man

A woman is suing a pet shop chain after her husband died of a hamster virus.

Nancy Magee, from the US, claims PetSmart Inc should have warned customers the rodents carry lymphocytic choriomeningitis, a viral infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

Two other people died of the virus in 2005 after receiving infected organs from the same woman as her husband, Thomas, 54.

Spasticville seeks name change

The city administrator of Spasticville, Kansas, said he has applied to the U.S. Geological Survey to have the city's name changed to Trails End.

The administrator said he collected the proper amount of signatures and sent them in with the accompanying forms to apply for the name change.

He said it could be months before researchers analyze the proposal and send it to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names for a decision.

Residents of the Sedgwick County town said accounts vary on how Spasticville got its name, but some theorize it was named for a home for the mentally handicapped that used to be located in the area.
